This study uses a qualitative and descriptive method with the honorific theory of kenjougo proposed by Iori (2001). The data sources used in this study were taken from oral and written data contained of kenjougo expressions in the Shimbun Kisha drama episodes 1-4. The data is obtained from Netflix with a duration of 45 to 60 minutes for each episode. The results of the study show that the form of kenjougo expression that appears most often in the Shimbun Kisha drama is a special verb form. Based on the relationship between participants and the concept of uchi-soto, the study results also show that the use of the expression kenjougo tends to be used in the concept of soto. In translation results in Japanese drama subtitles, the concept of uchi-soto are often not being considered by the translator. It can be seen in the use of several pronouns in Indonesian which are usually used in informal situations such as aku, kau, -mu and -ku. In addition, there are several changes in meaning made by translator. This is caused by the translator's lack of understanding of the uchi-soto concept. There are also cultural differences between the Japanese concept of uchi-soto and polite language in Indonesian. Indonesian does not recognize the honorific expression kenjougo so there are differences in perception in the translation process. The analysis of the form of honorific translation illustrates the complexity of the translation process which affects the equivalence of the translation.

Keywords: audiovisual translation; kenjougo; uchi-soto concept.

Dhia Ardhina Salsabila Tatang Hariri Copyright (c) 2023 Ayumi : Jurnal Budaya, Bahasa dan Sastra 2023-10-01 2023-10-01 10 2 101 121 10.25139/ayumi.v10i2.6658 Proses Morfologis Gairaigo pada Game Kantai Collection https://ejournal.unitomo.ac.id/index.php/ayumi/article/view/6551
The game Kantai Collection, more commonly known as Kancolle, is a Japanese-language game that is very popular among young Japanese people, especially among fans of anime-themed games. This game is set in the background of World War II and features many foreign characters who use gairaigo (loanwords from foreign languages) in their conversations. Gairaigo refers to borrowed words from foreign languages used by the Japanese people. The aim of this research is to classify the morphological processes of gairaigo in the source data and analyze how these gairaigo words are formed. This study is a qualitative descriptive research using the free observation method. The research collected data from six characters who frequently use gairaigo. The results of the study found 57 gairaigo words, consisting of 48 affixations, 6 combinations, and 3 word truncations, but no reduplication or direct borrowing was found. Furthermore, there were no changes in word classes in these gairaigo affixations.

Keywords: gairaigo; game; morphological process.

Raditya Jagadhita Puspa Mirani Kadir Wagiati Copyright (c) 2023 Ayumi : Jurnal Budaya, Bahasa dan Sastra 2023-10-26 2023-10-26 10 2 122 133 10.25139/ayumi.v10i2.6551 Fungsi Aizuchi Verbal dalam Dialog Anime Yuru Camp Episode 1-6 Karya Afro https://ejournal.unitomo.ac.id/index.php/ayumi/article/view/6797
Aizuchi (backchannel) is one of the unique habits that Japanese people have when talking to others. Aizuchi is a short phrase said by listeners when having a conversation. There are seven functions of aizuchi according Mayumi Kubota. Yuru Camp is one of the anime that applies a lot of aizuchi habits. That is what makes researchers interested in researching the function of aizuchi contained in Yuru Camp by Afro. The purpose of this study is to describe the function of aizuchi contained in the Yuru Camp. This research is a descriptive qualitative research and the analysis uses aizuchi theory proposed by Mayumi Kubota.. In this research, it is found that the functions of aizuchi used in Yuru Camp anime dialog are hearing sign (kiite iru to iu shingou), understanding sign (rikai shite iru to iu shingou), agreement sign (doui no shingou), denial sign (hitei no shingou), (kanjou no shingou), pause mark (ma o motaseru shingou), and adding, correcting, and requesting information (jouhou o tsuika, teisei, youkyuu no shingou). The use of aizuchi in the Yuru Camp anime supports smooth conversations between characters because the listener shows his attention to the speaker in a polite way.

Keywords: aizuchi; anime; verbal.

Arif Dzaki Aryandi Titien Wahyu Andarwati Copyright (c) 2023 Ayumi : Jurnal Budaya, Bahasa dan Sastra 2023-12-11 2023-12-11 10 2 134 150 10.25139/ayumi.v10i2.6797 Indeks Kigo pada Haiku Karya Matsuo Basho dalam Perspektif Semiotik Charles Sanders Peirce https://ejournal.unitomo.ac.id/index.php/ayumi/article/view/7196
This research aims to describe the kigo index contained in Matsuo Basho's haiku from Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic perspective. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques, namely literature study. The aim of this research is to find out what kigo indexes are in Matsuo Basho's haiku. The results of this research are that there are five haiku that explain kigo which has cause and effect. Kigo is related to natural conditions and seasons so it can be assumed that through kigo the poet's mood can be described. In this research, it is hoped that apart from being able to increase insight into indices, this research can become a reference for further research that wants to discuss kigo in haiku. Especially Matsuo Basho's haiku.

Keywords: haiku; index; kigo; Matsuo Basho.
Intan Suri Nana Rahayu Siti Nuraisyah Copyright (c) 2024 Ayumi : Jurnal Budaya, Bahasa dan Sastra 2024-01-17 2024-01-17 10 2 151 162 10.25139/ayumi.v10i2.7196
