Abstract
The title of this thesis is Racism in Brian Helgeland's “42” Movie Script as Seen Through the Point of View of Jack Robinson. The objectives of this research are to find out about the portrayal of Jack Robinson's racism experience, the causes of Jack Robinson's racism experience, and the effects of Jack Robinson's racism on himself, his wife, and Mr. Rickey. The racism shown in Brian Helgeland's script "42" is portrayed by African-American Jack Robinson. In order to analyze this issue, the thesis writer employs George M. Frederickson's theory. This thesis aims to find the proofs of racism, the portrayal of racism in Brian Helgeland's “42” movie script through Jack Robinson, as well as the causes and effects of racism. For additional investigation, the author employs both intrinsic and extrinsic techniques, which yield a variety of results.
