Abstract

The objectives of the study are to find out the portrayal of Sean Boswell’s racism and the causes of Sean Boswell’s racism The thesis writer uses intrinsic and extrinsic approaches to analyse the problems. The result of this study shows that Sean Boswell’s racism are portrayed by two kinds of racims. They are Racial Prejudice and Racial Discrimination. The Racism that experiences by Sean consists of Racial Prejudice and Racial Discrimination. Besides, the causes of Sean Boswell’s racism are difference in race and dominant group. The effect of Sean Boswell’s racism on himself is that he get opression from Han because of his own fault. The effects of Sean Boswell’s racism on Neela are that she get discrimination from DK Takashi because of Neela choose Sean rather than DK Takashi. Because DK Takashi was angry, he feels that he has lost her old Neela after Sean coming.
