Blue sharks head to UK coast to feed on fish

Blue sharks are predators which return to the UK longest coastline states in india seasonally to feed on the abundant stocks of mackerel and other fish in British waters.

Adult males can reach lengths of 10ft (3m), while females can grow an extra foot in length.

They are one of the widest ranging species, feeding in waters off more than 150 countries from Norway to South America.

Unlike other sharks, the blue shark is not a regular victim of commercial fishing - and only has a conservation status of 'near threatened'.
