Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Think Pair Share Berbantuan Media Fishbone Dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Menganalisis Unsur Intrinsik

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) assisted by the Fishbone media in improving students' skills in analyzing the intrinsic elements of short stories among seventh-grade students at MTs Nihayatul Amal Karawang. The background of this research stems from the low ability of students to analyze intrinsic elements of short stories, such as theme, plot, character and characterization, setting, point of view, language style, and moral values. This deficiency is believed to be caused by the use of less interactive teaching methods that do not actively engage students. To address the research questions, a quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design involving two classes: the experimental class, which applied the TPS model assisted by Fishbone media, and the control class, which used conventional teaching methods. Data collection techniques included pretest and posttest assessments, questionnaires, and observation sheets. Data analysis using SPSS version 25 revealed a significant improvement in students' ability to analyze the intrinsic elements of short stories in the experimental class compared to the control class. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the Independent Sample T-Test, and the posttest results showed a significance value of < 0.000 (less than 0.05), indicating that the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. Furthermore, the N-Gain score for the experimental class reached 0.76 (76%), which falls into the effective category, whereas the control class only achieved a score of 0.44 (44%), categorized as less effective. Therefore, the TPS model assisted by Fishbone media is proven to be effective in enhancing students' analytical skills regarding the intrinsic elements of short stories. This study contributes to educators by offering an innovative instructional strategy that can improve students’ understanding and critical thinking skills in literature learning.
