Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of guess the picture media on writing skills with pantun material on seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Telagasari. The population in this study were 222 seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Telagasari and were spread across 6 classes. In determining the sample, the researcher used a class random technique and selected class VII B with 37 students as the experimental class and class VII C with 37 students as the control class. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. Data collection techniques were in the form of literature studies, tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The research instrument used an essay test, namely writing pantun. Based on the results of this study, the use of guess the picture media on the ability to write pantun obtained an average value of 85.43 from the experimental class and an average value of 74.20 from the control class. The hypothesis obtained in this study was 0.000 from a significance level of 0.05. This shows that there is a significant influence of the use of picture guessing media on the ability to write rhymes of class VII students at SMPN 2 Telagasari.
