Writing is one of the language skills that students need to master, because by doing so, students will be able to train their thinking and communication skills effectively in writing and be able to produce both scientific and non-scientific works. Until now, many students still have difficulty in conveying arguments or main ideas in writing; this impairment usually occurs due to a lack of known diction and difficulty in constructing effective sentences. Therefore, this study aims to use the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model in learning to write negotiation texts in class X to test whether this TPS model can improve the ability to write negotiation texts, as seen from whether this negotiation text contains argumentative sentences in the negotiation process. The method used in this study is a quantitative experiment that tests cause and effect in a group without a control class. By using this method, it was found that the TPS model is quite effective in improving the skills of writing negotiation texts in class X students, with a 56.25% increase in the post-test.
