https://ejournal.unitomo.ac.id/index.php/sch/article/view/7444
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The WHOSS project is a significant government endeavour designed to revolutionise the perception of road journeys and public transport in Indonesian society. Nevertheless, there are reservations over the authoritative character of the material disseminated by Detik.com, a news outlet affiliated with the government. This research seeks to perform a framing analysis of the digital marketing communication and promotion of the WHOSS project in order to uncover the underlying characteristics of positive news pertaining to the government. This study utilises a qualitative research design and incorporates framing analysis as its primary approach. The data were gathered from many digital marketing communication platforms and promotional materials associated with the WHOSS project. The analysis is grounded in the framing theory, which facilitates a more profound comprehension of how information is framed and its influence on the audience's perception. The framing analysis findings indicate that the government presents the WHOSS project in a very positive way in its digital marketing communication and promotional materials. The framing tactics employed in these materials have a tendency to highlight the advantages of the project while minimising any possible disadvantages. Moreover, the authoritative tone of the news provided by Detik.com serves to strengthen this favourable portrayal, perhaps resulting in a biassed understanding of the initiative. This study offers significant insights into the utilisation of framing tactics in digital marketing communication and promotional materials pertaining to government initiatives. The results emphasise the necessity for a more discerning assessment of the framing methods employed in such materials, since they have the potential to greatly influence public opinion. The study further emphasises the significance of news media organisations in delivering impartial information to prevent the reinforcement of positive framing.</p>Daniel Susilo

https://ejournal.unitomo.ac.id/index.php/sch/article/view/9762
<p>The advancement of digital technology has led to increased internet and social media usage in Indonesia, particularly among adolescents. According to the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII, 2024), internet penetration has reached 79.5%, with 221 million users. Among them, adolescents aged 13–19 are the most active group, spending an average of 4 to 6 hours daily on social media. This high intensity of usage has psychological implications, including social anxiety, sleep disorders, and the pressure to stay constantly connected (fear of missing out or FoMO). This study analyzes social media usage patterns that may trigger social anxiety among Indonesian adolescents, using the theoretical frameworks of Cultivation Theory, Uses and Gratifications, and the Spiral of Silence. The research was conducted through a survey of 422 respondents who frequently use social media, with data analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings indicate that excessive social media use, particularly among individuals aged 17–24, is correlated with increased symptoms of social anxiety, sleep disturbances, and pressure to conform to social norms. Additionally, the habit of doomscrolling—the continuous consumption of negative content—was found to contribute to heightened anxiety, particularly among women. This study underscores the importance of digital literacy and time management in mitigating the negative impacts of social media. Furthermore, future research is recommended to explore the evolving patterns of social media usage and their long-term effects.</p>Hilarius Bambang Winarko
