THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF ARTIFICIAL LURE TOWARDS CATCHES OF KURISI FISH (Nemipterus sp.) USING OUTLINE FISHING DEGREES IN BIMOREJO BEACHES, BANYUWANGI, EAST JAVA

Abstract

Bimorejo Beach waters are waters located between Banyuwangi City and Bali Island, to be precise in the northern part of the Bali Strait. One of the most effective and efficient capture fisheries in Bimorejo Coastal waters is mostly used by fishermen, namely handline. Hand line is a traditional fishing gear consisting of several components, namely reels, fishing lines, hooks, swivel, weights and bait. The color of artificial bait is one of the supports for fishing with hand line fishing gear, color functions as a lure for fish to approach the bait immediately. The purpose of this study was to determine the best type of artificial bait out of the three treatments in providing catches of kurisi fish (Nemipterus sp.) on handlines in Bimorejo Beach waters. The research method used was the Experimental Fishing method with a Randomized Block Design (RAK) using three treatments based on different types of artificial bait, namely artificial baits of chicken feathers, gold thread, and rubber nipples with nine replications. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), if there were significant differences in treatment, then further tests were carried out. Furthermore, statistical tests were carried out on the catch data to find out whether the treatment had a significant effect or not on the catch, which was carried out by the F test. So it can be concluded that there is a very significant difference in the effect of different types of artificial bait. Artificial bait with chicken feathers gives the best kurisi fish catches among other artificial baits.
