Fresh and Creative Slang Words in Turning Red Movie Script

Abstract

This research is entitled Fresh and Creative Slang Words in Turning Red Film Script. The researcher used a qualitative method to examine the slang in the movie script entitled Turning Red. The movie script Turning Red tells about the friendship of teenagers around 13 years old who are going through puberty. In the setting of the story, where teenagers their age often use slang to communicate with each other, this is under what the researchers examined. This study aims to identify slang words that appear in movie scripts, especially those belonging to the Fresh and Creative types. The researcher uses Allan and Burridge's theory to analyze data about the types of slang. In this study, the researcher found thirty slang words that belong to the fresh and creative slang types.
