HYPERBOLE IN WIND OF CHANGE AND WHITE DOVE
Abstract
Hyperbole in the Wind of Change and White Dove is the title of this thesis. Hyperbole is one of various of figurative language. Figurative language is a type of language that is expressed in a way that differs from the true meaning. Figurative language is very common in song and poetry. This is great for writers because it allows them to use more beautiful and engaging language. Figurative language can convey a lot of meaning that is difficult to express in other ways. The reseacher will explain what is figurative and what it means in the words it contains. The reseacher used qualitative research to collect data on five types of figurative language: hyperbole, personification, metaphor, and allusion. In this thesis, the reseacher will focus on these one type of figurative language, that is hyperbole. The goal was to learn the figurative language used in Scorpion's songs and to understand the meanings found in the lyrics.
