Abstrak

The title of the thesis is Trust in Charles Cumming’s Plane through Brodie Torrance Movie Script. The objectives of the study are to find out the trust uttered by Brodie Torrance in Charles Cumming’s Plane movie script and to investigate the reasons behind the trust of Brodie Torrance given to Louis Gaspare in Charles Cumming’s Plane movie script. The thesis writer uses a qualitative approach to analyze Brodie Torrance’s trust and obtains the data from the movie script using a descriptive method. The theory used is concept of trust by Jack Gibb. The results of the thesis are: 1) Brodie Torrance shows trust in the levels Power and Control, Benevolence, and Participative Interaction. Drawing on Jack Gibb’s theory, the reasons behind the trust of Brodie Torrance given to Louis Gaspare are Intense Communication, Goodwill, and Reciprocal Intention. In conclusion, Brodie Torrance Trust Louis Gaspare because there is a mutual relationship created in the needs of rescuing plane passengers.
