A Study of Code Switching Performed by Daniel Mananta in Indonesian Idol Program in RCTI

Abstrak

This research purpose to analyze the use of code-switching by Daniel Mananta as a presenter in Indonesian Idol. The thesis writer uses Poplack theory of code switching . From the Statement of the problem to solving the problems this thesis writer uses a qualitative method for finding all the data using content analysis technique. The result obtained that Daniel Mananta uses all types of code-switching and the four reasons why Daniel Mananta used code-switching.The conclusion is that often the use of code-switching is used by Daniel Mananta in Indonesian Idol . This research will be able to provide contributions or references to readers who are interested in learning and understanding what code-switching .
