Abstract
This research is motivated by the emotions in the main character Yuko Moriguchi in the 2007 novel KOKUHAKU by Minato Kanae. Yuko Moriguchi's emotions are a conflict between Yuko Moriguchi and her student, Watanabe Shuya. Yuko Moriguchi and Watanabe Shuya's problems made Yuko Moriguchi emotional because Yuko Moriguchi's child was sadistically killed by Watanabe Shuya. The formulation of the research problem is what types of emotions are experienced by Yuko Moriguchi. The aim of this research is to describe the emotions experienced by Yuko Moriguchi which were caused by Watanabe Shuya's actions carried out by Yuko Moriguchi in the novel KOKUHAKU. The theory used in this research is Paul Eckman's theory of emotion. Theory can be defined as a study of types of emotions. The method used is a qualitative research method. The data analysis method uses descriptive analysis. The research results found that there were six types of emotions for Yuko Moriguchi's character, namely happiness, sadness, disgust, fear, surprise and anger.
