Abstract

Tuna is a strategic commodity for fishermen to increase fishermen’s income. However, fishing for tuna by fishermen has not been effective and efficient because fishermen still use natural instincts in determining the fishing area for tuna. Information about fishing areas can be done using a GIS approach based on oceanographic parameters such as SST and chlorophyll-a. SST and chlorophyll-a can affect the distribution of fish in waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship and influence of SST and chlorophyll-a on the catch of tuna by using data analysis in the form of Multiple Koefisien Correlation and Pearson Correlation. SST and chlorophyll-a data were obtained from the extract of the Aqua MODIS image and the catch data were obtained from the Rembang Regency KP servce with a time span of 2018 to 2021. Sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a have a strong relationship to the catch of tuna in Rembang Bay, which is equal to 0,65 and has an effect of 42,62%. Meanwhile, the remaining 57,38% is determined by other factors. With the multiple regression equation is y=-5.213.630,78+205.042,65x1-144.060,79x2
