Abstract

Food is everything that comes from the liver, both processed and unprocessed, intended as food and drink. The use of food additives such as coloring and artificial sweeteners which are banned are increasingly being used in today's mature technology. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there are rhodamine B and saccharin contained in ketchup tomato sauce, ABC, Indofood, and sasa sachets circulating in Semolowaru Village, Sukolilo District, Surabaya. The method used is qualitative and quantitative research. Qualitative research is a survey research that is descriptive in nature to determine the presence or absence of certain compounds under study. The results of the qualitative test of rhodamine B on all samples of tomato sauce sachets showed that none of them contained rhodamine B. The samples of tomato sauce sachets taken from the Semolowaru sub-district were tested for saccharin content using qualitative and quantitative test methods. The results showed that they all contained saccharin but were still below the limit set. has been determined so it is still safe to use. Ketchup, ABC, Indofood and sasa tomato sauce sachets all do not contain rhodamine B coloring, so they are declared safe for consumption and do not pose a risk to health. Ketchup, ABC, Indofood and Sasa tomato sauce sachets all tested positive for saccharin, with levels ranging from 8.97 to 38.36 ppm, all of which were below the specified threshold of 500 mg/kg body weight so that they were declared safe for consumption and not no risk to health.
