Abstract

Artemia sp is a type of natural food for fish larvae which has a high nutritional value. Problems that are often encountered in the culture of Artemia sp. namely the high mortality rate caused by the quality and type of feed given during culture. Baker's yeast is an alternative type of feed for Artemia sp. due to its relatively easy use and stable availability. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving different doses of baker's yeast on the survival of Artemia sp. This research was conducted from November to December 2022 at the Sinar Aquarium, Surabaya, East Java. The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments, namely treatment A = Baker's yeast 5 mg/l; B = Baker's yeast 10 mg/l; C = Baker's yeast 15 mg/l; D = Baker's Yeast 20 mg/L. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA at the 95% level of confidence (p> 0.05) and continued with the least significant difference test (LSD). Parameters observed include Survival (SR). Based on the results of the analysis of variance, the different doses of instant yeast administration could have an effect on the survival of Artemia sp. significantly. The LSD test results showed that treatment C with a dose of 15 mg/l instant yeast gave a survival value of Artemia sp. the highest compared to other treatments.
