Abstract

This study aims to determine the ideal hauling time so as to obtain maximum catches. In addition, to determine the effect of hauling time before and after midnight. This study used experimental fishing methods. Data were obtained by conducting experiments from two different treatments, each treatment was repeated 16 times so that 32 data were obtained. The type and weight of the catch were the main parameters to be analyzed in this study. The fish catch during the study was then calculated on average based on the number of hauling carried out on each trip. The results of the calculations are then entered into the table of average catches for each treatment. Data were analyzed using the t-test. However, before carrying out the t-test, a normality test was first carried out using the IBM Statistics 25 application to see whether the data was normally distributed or not. The results of the normality test show that the sig value for the previous value is 0.000 and the sig value for the after value is 0.039. Because the values before and after <0.05, the data is not normally distributed and cannot use the t-test, so you have to use the Wilcoxson test. The result of the Wilcoxson test is that the sig value (2 tailed) is 0.015 <0.05. So it can be concluded that there are differences in fish catches during hauling before midnight and after midnight, where catches after midnight are more effective than before midnight.
