Abstract

ABSTRACT

The dogol type of fishing equipment is a fishing tool made from net material formed into pockets to accommodate the catch with the construction of a long rope and long wings, the shape almost resembles a payang. The aim of this research is to determine the friendliness of the dogol type of fishing gear and to find out fisheries improvement strategies from the technical aspects of using the dogol type of fishing gear. The research method used is a descriptive survey type method with sampling using a purposive sampling technique, meaning sampling using certain criteria. The samples used were 40 fishermen at TPI Kumai. Based on the 1995 Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (CCRF) category, it shows that the results of data analysis of dogol type fishing gear in TPI, Kumai District, are in the environmentally unfriendly category with a score of 18.45.
