Abstract

Conventional drainage systems are a contributing factor to flooding, particularly in urban areas. Therefore, this study will evaluate the drainage system to identify the capacity of existing drainage channels to handle runoff and wastewater discharge. The research method used is a quantitative approach using hydrological and hydraulic analysis based on rainfall data, topographic data, catchment area data, and existing drainage channel data. The results indicate that the Gumbel method meets the requirements for rainfall calculations. The determination of the affected area is based on the division of the area of ​​each section. Based on the results of the accumulated discharge calculation, the total discharge is 4,267 m3/second. It is known that some drainage channels are unable to accommodate the runoff discharge, so adjustments are made to the drainage channel dimensions. Educational programs on the importance of effective drainage systems can increase community participation.
