Makna Kata Umpatan Bahasa Jepang Kisama dan Temee dalam Anime Jojo no Kimyouna Bouken

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of the swear words kisama and temee in Japanese, and to identify the meaning in the context of conversation. The words kisama and temee are second-person pronouns that have very harsh and insulting connotations, in anime these two words are often used in angry or conflict situations. In learning Japanese, confusion often occurs because of the similar meanings of words and not understanding the meaning of words contextually. Based on this background, the researcher examines the meaning of the swear words kisama and temee in Japanese with the theory of semantics a view to logic of language by Hilman Pardede (2016) with conceptual meaning, namely adding different features if the meaning has a feature it is said (+) and if it does not have a feature it is said (-). This paper uses a qualitative approach to analyze the use of the two words kisama and temee. The data source used in this paper comes from the anime entitled Jojo no Kimyouna Bouken. The results of the study show that kisama tends to have a harsh connotation and is used in a more dramatic or extreme context, while temee is more commonly used in informal conversations with a more direct and aggressive nuance. This study also underlines the importance of understanding the context and situation in the use of these two swear words.
