Abstract

The advancement of technology in Indonesia is very rapid. Now, teachers can utilize the internet as a learning media so that learning in the classroom seems interesting. One of them is by utilizing Quizizz. This study aims to determine how effective Quizizz, a learning media, is towards students' interest and learning outcomes in mathematics. The type of research is experimental, with a one-group pre-test and post-test design research model and a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of SMP Brawijaya Sakta 1, while the sample used was class VII students with a total of 11 students. This study found that (1) the average value of students' mathematics learning outcomes after the application of Quizizz learning media reached 91.72 which was classified as a high category; (2) there was a significant increase in mathematics learning outcomes after the use of Quizizz as a learning media with an average N Gain value of 0.7 which was also in the high category; (3) based on the questionnaire scores, students' interest in learning was also categorized as high with an average score of 48.63 with a percentage of 64% getting a category agreeing that students have an interest in learning mathematics; (4) after Quizizz was used, students' interest and mathematics learning outcomes increased. So, there is a significant effectiveness of using Quizizz learning media, which is proven through an increase in the average student learning outcomes and learning interest.
